factual culture

available as ready made

'Wedding Day'  travels to 8 different countries and cultures across the world to find out the true meaning and significance of both a wedding, and the wedding day itself.

No less than 111.397 weddings take place every day somewhere in the world.  But a wedding in the Peoples’ Republic of China is worlds away from a wedding between a young couple in a deeply religious fishing village in the Netherlands, a wedding in Mexico or polygamous marriages in Senegal.
Each week the host, photographer Lieve Blancquaert,  attends a different wedding, before delving deeper into the culture and complexities that go along with marriage in different parts of the world.

'Wedding day' is a part of Lieve Blancquaert’s cycle about important moments in human life: birth (‘Birth day’), marriage (‘Wedding day’) and death (‘Last days’).
