In ‘Smart solutions!' Ketnet wrappers Sien Wynants and Leonard Muylle travel the world in search of smart solutions to the problems facing developing countries. Together with local children, Sien and Leonard then roll up their sleeves to help to make these clever inventions a reality.
Sien and Leonard visit communities in Peru, Cambodia, Tanzania, Ghana, Kenya and Guatemala. Wherever they go, they immerse themselves in local life and make a host of new friends. While doing so, they get a first-hand look at some of the problems the local people are facing. Problems with energy, water supply, waste management and hygiene, but also with landmines… and even with lions. Real problems that call for creative solutions.
‘Smart Solutions!’ is a whacky educational adventure that takes young viewers to locations that appeal to their imagination and introduces them to the ingenious way in which people tackle everyday problems and thus improve their quality of life.
